DISC Profiling for Elite Sports Camps

Stand out camps offer more than just physical development

Great coaches know that physical development is only one element of helping athletes become the best they can be.

While other camps focus on the skill and technical competency of emerging athletes, the often-overlooked component of elite camp programs is the most integral part of athlete development. The people side.

In sport, what differentiates the best is never just physical or technical ability. Instead, it is who has the best mental, emotional and relationship skills. As 3x National Championship Coach Jim Calhoun said, “Winning and championships are memorable but they come from the strength of the relationships.”

An AthleteDISC Profile for each camp athlete

Athlete Assessments’ AthleteDISC Profile is the only behavior profiling assessment of its kind in the world tailored specifically to athletes.

Each assessment includes a 12-minute online survey and results in a personalized AthleteDISC Profile Report (with summaries for easy use). The report details the individual’s personal style, strengths, limiting behaviors, communication preferences, and the environment they excel in.

Expected Outcomes of DISC Profiling:

  • Get practical strategies that will help you coach athletes based on their individual needs
  • Know the behaviors that produce best athletic performances for greater consistency when it counts the most
  • Help athletes build self-awareness to make improvements and take greater responsibility for their behavior on and off the court or field
  • A valuable take-home resource that athletes can share with their regular coach, teammates and family

  • Easily include skill development in communication, teamwork and building relationships providing much-needed experience for younger athletes
  • The AthleteDISC Profile provides practical information to enhance the athlete’s self-awareness, identify what boosts them up and what drags them down
  • Impactful and valuable classroom time to break-up the on-court/field and conditioning sessions
  • Use in preparation to gain a deep understanding of each camp athlete before camp starts
  • Tailor the delivery of your camp to get the most benefit to your group of athletes
  • Be strategic as a coaching staff with how you work with the athletes individually
  • You effectively have Bo Hanson on your coaching staff as he joins your camp via live video conference for the debrief session
  • Prior to the camp, Bo Hanson discusses the results of the group of camp athletes, so you are fully informed and prepared
  • Be thoughtful in how you group athletes within the camp to manage behavior
  • Incorporate leadership development in the camp syllabus
  • Your camp athletes have a tangible report to take home and share with their coaches and parents
