It is with great pleasure that the company group for Athlete Assessments and Team8 People, announce that Rebekah Box will be stepping into the role as Chief Executive Officer of Team8 People. Rebekah has been with our company group for over five years, and during that time has demonstrated exceptional professional development, and personal investment in the growth and success of both companies, working closely with our internal teams and clients to deliver this.
CEO of Athlete Assessments (and Director of Team8 People), Liz Masen, shared, “It is truly rewarding to see such substantial growth and opportunities develop in the great work that we do, and even more fulfilling to see someone who has been so dedicated to the business step into this leadership position. I am truly excited about what Rebekah can continue to contribute and build, and look forward to all that is ahead for her, our team, and the exceptional clients we are invested in.”
Importantly, for those who know and work with Rebekah through Athlete Assessments, she will be retaining a strategic role as a Business Specialist, which will include attending conferences and maintaining key client relationships, some of which are across both companies.
As detailed by Liz Masen, “Sport and business have many points of alignment with driving performance, and both rely on winning with people. Team8 began well over 25 years ago and was our first company to deliver leadership and corporate training programs in Australia. Athlete Assessments was started in 2007 to bring sport-specific DISC Profiling to the global market and harnessing the benefits of ‘getting the people side right’ to consistently win. In 2020, our company group founded Talisman People with another investor consortium, to apply the principles and strategies of high-performance sport, specifically to the mining and resources industry.”
“In only a few short years, Talisman People clients achieved exceptional turnaround in production and safety measures, a testimony for the effectiveness of our programs and again demonstrating the power of investing in people to achieve success. Following the tremendous results of this business, we bought-out the other shareholders to wholly own the company in August last year and renamed it Team8 People. With this acquisition, we have restructured the company group to merge Team8 and Team8 People to continue to provide exceptional development programs and assessments to business and industry, and Athlete Assessments continues to be a global leader in the sports industry. While I have loved being the CEO of Team8 and Athlete Assessments, we recognize the need to have someone lead the ‘new’ Team8 People, and I will remain in my position with Athlete Assessments.”
Liz Masen added, “Knowing the close working relationship between Team8 People and Athlete Assessments, both companies will prosper with shared knowledge and expertise.”
Rebekah concluded, “Since joining the company group, I’ve had the privilege of contributing to and learning from all areas of the businesses, driving new initiatives, and building strong and meaningful partnerships. I’m thrilled to lead Team8 People into this next stage of growth, and am appreciative of the opportunity to do so.”

About Athlete Assessments
Athlete Assessments was founded in 2007 by Bo Hanson, four-time Australian Olympian and three-time Olympic bronze medal winner in rowing. Prior to retiring from his competitive career in 2004, Bo became an expert in DISC behavioral theory and application through his corporate training and development qualifications and experience.
